  • Webb’s Grainworks – Classic Pub Pull with Laser Engraved Detail

Webb’s Grainworks – Classic Pub Pull with Laser Engraved Detail

We recently completed another production run for Webb’s Grainworks, centered around a classic pub pull style tap handle.

While the overall form stays traditional, the real focus on this build was the laser engraved artwork integrated into the side of the handle.

Blending Traditional Form with Custom Detail

The base design follows a familiar pub-style profile. Clean lines, comfortable in hand, and consistent with what you would expect to see behind a working bar.

Where this one stands apart is the engraved side panel.

Rather than relying solely on shape or color, the identity comes through in the engraved artwork. This allows for a more refined look that holds up over time without depending on surface-applied graphics or labels.

Laser Engraving as a Primary Feature

The engraving process was a key part of this run.

    Focus areas included:

    • Clean line definition within the artwork
    • Consistent depth across all units
    • Proper scaling to maintain readability on-tap

The goal is simple. When someone walks up to the bar, the handle should read clearly without needing to overcompensate in size or color.

Engraving also adds durability. The design is physically part of the handle, not something that can wear off with use.

    Production Consistency

With a more minimal form, consistency becomes more noticeable.

    Each unit was checked for:

    • Uniform finish across the batch
    • Consistent engraving placement and depth
    • Proper hardware fitment

There is less room for variation with this style, which makes process control even more important.

    Local Design and Fitment

As with all local work, this was not just designed and shipped.

    We work through:

    • Free consultation and mockup design
    • Prototype development
    • On-site fitment when possible

For local clients, that means bringing a draft handle out and checking it directly on the tap system. Height, spacing, visibility, and overall feel all get validated before full production.

    Built in the Garage

Every handle follows the same process:
    Design, Print, test, refine, repeat.

No large production floor. No outsourced batches.

Just a controlled workflow focused on producing consistent, functional pieces that hold up in real bar environments.

    Serving Local Breweries

We continue to support breweries and beverage brands across Orange County, Los Angeles, and the Inland Empire.

If you are looking to develop a tap handle that fits your space and holds up to daily use, we start with a free consult and mockup and build from there.

  • Study Break Hard Seltzer Summer Tap Handle

Study Break Hard Seltzer Summer Tap Handle

Back in the garage working through a summer run for Study Break.

This one was built as a seasonal “generic” handle. One design that can run across multiple flavors instead of swapping handles every time something rotates on tap.

    Built for rotation

If you’re pushing multiple SKUs, constantly changing handles becomes a problem.

    This solves that.

One handle, consistent look, easy swaps behind the bar.

Keeps things clean and recognizable without overcomplicating it.

    Design and production

This run pushed multi color printing a bit further while keeping output consistent across the batch.

    Focus was simple:

    • clean color separation
    • consistent finish from unit to unit
    • repeatability at scale

The character gives it presence, but the real work is making sure every piece comes off the bed the same and holds up in use.

These are going into rotation, not sitting on a shelf.

    Local work matters

For local clients, speed and iteration is where this makes sense.

    I’ll do:

    • free consult
    • mockup design
    • physical draft prototype

If you’re close enough, I’ll bring a draft out and we’ll test fit it on your taps.

Check clearance, height, visibility, how it actually feels in hand.

Make the adjustments before committing to a full run.

    Process

    Everything follows the same loop:

    Design
    Print
    Test
    Refine
    Repeat

    No production floor. No outsourcing.

Just a garage setup that’s dialed in and repeatable.

    If you’re local

Orange County, LA, Inland Empire, all fair game.

If you’re running a rotating lineup or just need something that actually fits your setup, reach out.

We’ll start with a consult and a mockup and go from there.

  • Wrapping a Production Run for Mission Ready Brewing

Wrapping a Production Run for Mission Ready Brewing

    Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

There’s something uniquely satisfying about closing out a production run that represents both continuity and evolution. This latest batch of custom tap handles for Mission Ready Brewing (MRB) does exactly that.

Located in Rancho Santa Margarita, Mission Ready Brewing operates out of the former Laguna Beer Company facility — a space that already carried local recognition and history before MRB took the reins. Rather than wiping the slate clean, the Mission Ready team has taken a deliberate, respectful approach: retain what worked, refine what didn’t, and elevate the brand with intention.

That philosophy aligns closely with how we approach design and fabrication at GarageCraft3D.

From Laguna Beer Company to Mission Ready Brewing

Laguna Beer Company established itself as a neighborhood brewery in Rancho Santa Margarita, building a loyal local following. When ownership transitioned and Mission Ready Brewing stepped in, the goal wasn’t simply a name change — it was a repositioning.

Mission Ready Brewing brought a clearer identity, veteran-owned leadership, and a sharper focus on brand cohesion. The beer stayed approachable. The space stayed familiar. But the presentation, from graphics to tap handles, began moving toward something more purposeful and unmistakably MRB.

That’s where this production run fits into the bigger picture.

A collection of custom two-tone tap handles for Mission Ready Brewing, featuring OD Green and Coyote Brown colors with detailed logo designs, displayed on a wooden surface.

    Two-Tone Stubby Handles, Purpose-Built

For this run, MRB opted for custom stubby-style tap handles with a distinctly tactical aesthetic:

    • OD Green on one face
    • Coyote Brown on the opposing face
    • Crisp, high-contrast logo detailing
    • Durable construction designed for daily service

The two-tone layout wasn’t just a color choice — it was a way to give the handle visual depth while keeping it rooted in Mission Ready’s brand language. Depending on where you’re standing at the bar, you catch a slightly different look, but it always reads as intentional.

These are not off-the-shelf handles. Each unit was designed, fabricated, finished, and assembled in-house, ensuring consistency across the entire lineup.

    Production Matters

Tap handles are small objects that do a lot of work. They are touched constantly, seen from across the room, and subconsciously shape how a beer is perceived before it’s ever poured.

    This production run focused on:

    • Repeatable quality across multiple units
    • Clean edge definition and surface finish
    • Secure mounting hardware
    • Long-term durability in a commercial environment

When a brewery is actively refining its identity, details like this matter.

    Looking Ahead

Mission Ready Brewing continues to build on the foundation left behind while confidently moving forward with their own voice. We’re proud to support that transition with hardware that reflects where the brand is headed, not just where it’s been.

If you find yourself in Rancho Santa Margarita, stop in, grab a pint, and take a closer look at the handles behind the bar. They’re a small piece of a much larger story, one that’s still being written.

    More to come.

  • Webb’s Grainworks: Golden Republic Founders Club Release

A full production weekend at GC3D

Webb’s Grainworks just launched their Golden Republic Bourbon, GC3D supported their Founder’s Club gift baskets. The club is a program built around their commitment to locally grown grain, small batch distillation, and California craftsmanship. That focus on local production and hands-on quality is the same foundation GC3D operates on, which made this collaboration a natural fit. More about the Golden Republic release can be found at https://www.webbsgrainworks.com/.

A wooden crate containing Webb's Golden Republic California Bourbon Whiskey, two engraved tasting glasses, and decorative filler.

Each Founders Crate included a hand-signed bottle of Golden Republic California Bourbon Whiskey, a pair of engraved tasting glasses, and a thick metal Founders Club card. The card was designed as part of the full kit and quickly became a point of envy at the launch dinner. Webb’s presentation, paired with these elements, delivered a cohesive and premium experience that reflected the spirit of the release.

GC3D handled the full fabrication run for the glassware and the cards. This included dialing in the laser settings, managing cycle consistency across the entire batch, and completing the production workload over a dedicated weekend in the garage. The final display at Webb’s tasting room shows the level of detail that went into the project and the alignment between both teams in producing something local and thoughtfully made.

If you picked up a Founders Crate at the event, enjoy. This was a rewarding project to support.

  • Blog Update: Lasers, Lasers, and More Lasers – Webb’s Grainworks Golden Republic Bourbon Special Release

Happy Thanksgiving from GC3D. While most people settled in for a long weekend, the garage stayed lit with the usual late-night production cycle, this time for a special-release project with Webb’s Grainworks.

Their Golden Republic bourbon launch needed something memorable. The request: a full run of custom-engraved sipping glassware paired with a matching batch of Founder’s Club metal cards. The output: 200 units of glassware, individually masked, jig-indexed, and rotary-engraved, completed over the course of the weekend. Each glass went through a full prep cycle including coating, burn, peel, and inspection before lining up in rows for final QC.

The project also included a limited set of Golden Republic Founder’s Club cards, cut and engraved on anodized gold stock. Clean lines, tight edge definition, and a layout that complements the bottle and brand package.

This release marks another step in expanding the GC3D catalog to meet broader client requirements. Beyond tap handles, we are taking on more specialty engraving, branded metalwork, and limited-run promotional pieces. As clients diversify, the garage adapts.

More late-night oil, more tooling, more capability coming online. The catalog continues to grow to support the projects that walk through the door, or in this case, roll in right before a holiday weekend.

  • Study Break Hard Seltzer Joins the Lineup at Disneyland’s Sonoma Wine Terrace

A variety of craft beer tap handles on a metal bar top, including a statue-themed tap and colorful beer labels, with a small shot glass in front.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to personally deliver and help Disney Cast Members update the taps for Study Break Hard Seltzer at the Sonoma Wine Terrace inside Disney California Adventure Park.

These custom tap handles are now proudly on display for GarageCraft3d, pouring Blast of Baja day and night. The leftmost handle in the photo, the vibrant purple one with the signature “canguy” artwork, represents another GarageCraft3d design now live inside the park.

If you’re visiting Disneyland California Adventure, stop by Sonoma Terrace, grab a cold one, and snap a selfie with the handle. Send it my way! I’d love to see it in action!

  • Update from Disneyland: GameCraft Märzen on Tap

This weekend my wife and I spent a date day at #Disneyland and #DisneylandCaliforniaAdventure. We ended up stopping by the #LamplightLounge. On tap was GameCraft Brewing’s Märzen, a classic #Oktoberfest-style lager, and supporting those pours behind the bar was another GarageCraft3d #taphandle.

A man with a Jack Skellington shirt stands at the Lamplight Lounge bar in Disneyland California Adventure, pointing at craft beer taps. The background features colorful lights and structures from the park at night.

This handle is part of the continuing rotation of GameCraft Brewing beers featured across the park, marking the third or possibly fourth GarageCraft3d handle now in active use at Disneyland. Each handle is designed, manufactured, and finished in the garage, built to stand up to the constant use of a busy venue while still reflecting the look and feel of handcrafted design.

It is always rewarding to see something that started on a workbench here in #SoCal being used to quench the thirst of thousands of guests every day at DCA! These handles represent what GarageCraft3d is all about: creating functional, durable, and well-crafted products that serve both purpose and story.

Another successful pour, another proud moment for GarageCraft3d. Check us out and/or design your own!

    Cheers,

  • From R&D to Market: Laser Engraved Moscow Mule Mugs

At GarageCraft3d, every test is about moving closer to production-quality outcomes. Our latest focus was laser engraving copper Moscow mule mugs. Using the branded Nauti Vodka bottle from Webb’s Grainworks in Aliso Viejo as our benchmark, we set out to validate whether their clean, recognizable logo could be faithfully transferred onto copper.

The results came back strong. The engraved mugs carried over the detail, depth, and clarity of the original Nauti Vodka branding, showing crisp linework even on the curved copper surface. More importantly, the process proved repeatable, confirming that custom copper mug engraving is not just possible but production-ready.

This milestone expands what GarageCraft3d can deliver. With this successful validation, laser-engraved Moscow mule mugs move from experimental R&D into a true product offering, standing alongside our 3D printing, CNC, and laser engraving lines. Breweries, distilleries, and event brands can now bring the same logos featured on bottles, cans, and taproom signage onto durable, high-quality copper barware.

From bottle to mug, from glass to metal, craft continues to meet craft, and our product line just got stronger.

Another milestone in the books. GarageCraft3d has launched a new homepage built to guide every visitor, from home kegerator owners to full-scale breweries, toward the tap handle that fits their needs.
