The latest in our pre-production testing here is a whimsical, functional tap handle that pays homage to one of gaming’s most iconic moments, from The Legend of Zelda (1986), where a wise old man warns, “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.” In the original game, the player is handed a sword. In our version? You’re handed something far more refreshing… a cold pint.
This 8-bit inspired tap handle takes the form of a classic pixelated sword, true to color it is printed in shimmering gold with bold retro text that reads:
“IT’S DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE! POUR THIS!”
The hilt sports bright green and orange stripes, a nod to the in-game glory and nostalgic cartridge aesthetics, with a stainless steel ferrule ready for duty. Whether it’s beer, cider, or a house-brewed seltzer, this tap doesn’t just pour, it quests.
It’s a perfect piece for any brewery, bar, game room, or kegerator that appreciates the golden age of pixelated heroism. Because let’s face it, life is a little less dangerous with a good drink in hand.
